Throughout 2025, Boston 25 News has been marking the 25th anniversary of modern special education by highlighting the stories and voices of students with disabilities. “I don’t see myself as a different person in the society. I like, want to blend in with everyone,” said Medford High School senior, Jonathan Malerba. But Malerba, 17, can’t help but stand out. And it’s not because of his disability, but rather how he refuses to let it sideline him, despite some major setbacks.

We obtained invoices showing work started in September and as of May this investigation tallies $309,777.03.

The father of Marcelo Gomes Da Silva, the Milford teen detained by ICE, has driving infractions dating back to 2014, a source familiar with his driving record tells 25 Investigates. On Monday, ICE officials said they were looking for Marcelo’s father, Joao Paulo Gomes-Pereira, because he had a habit of reckless driving, including going over 100-hundred miles an hour in residential areas. 25 Investigates found one record in the courts of a citation issued in July 2023.
