KELLER, Texas — In a quiet Keller living room that now looks more like a rehab gym, a father leans over his teenage son. "Alright, bud… one, two, three," he says, helping him shift positions in a wheelchair. That's just part of the routine now. Laps around the living room -- a routine Jacob Brewer and his parents never asked for, and still wake up hoping they can one day leave behind. Because what landed them here wasn't a car accident or a genetic disorder -- it was lightning.

PRINCETON, Texas — On Tuesday night at a cowboy church in Princeton, neighbors won’t be gathering to worship — they'll be gathering to worry. Carry The Load calls it "Memorial May" — a coast-to-coast tribute to the fallen that stretches across hundreds of cities, thousands of miles, and into the hearts of those who walk for the ones who no longer can. Their mission culminated, as it has for the past 15 years, at Dallas' Reverchon Park this weekend.

LOS ANGELES — When Carry The Load (CTL) finishes its 2025 events at Dallas' Reverchon Park on Memorial Day, ambassadors for the event will have completed their 13th year of journeys across the United States spreading their message of remembrance in the most effective way they know how: city to city and face to face. The West Coast route for example, one of five this year criss-crossing the United States, started in late April in Seattle.
