It’s been 25 years since my first – and only – on-road motorcycle tour with my father, a two-week Edelweiss tour through the Mediterranean Alps. It was the trip of a lifetime, an unimaginable adventure for that lucky 9-year-old kid who found a Honda XR75 in front of the Christmas tree in the late ’70s. Growing up in Southern California, my friends and I all rode dirtbikes. We thought a big loop was ripping around our campsite in Red Rock Canyon in the Mojave Desert.

There's no doubt that credit card balances are at record highs these days. In fact, from 2021 until the end of 2023, credit balances jumped 47 percent. That's the steepest three-year climb on record. SACRAMENTO – A Natomas couple spent $18,000 on waterproof laminate floors throughout their spacious home. When they spotted damage after the first cleaning of their floor, they reached out to CBS13 and the Call Kurtis consumer investigative team to look into it. EL DORADO HILLS – An El Dorado Hills man signed up for a trial membership and then decided to cancel. Doing that didn't seem to matter. More than a year after Hai Pham canceled the trial membership, he kept getting charged every month for it. That's when Pham decided to reach out to CBS13 and the Call Kurtis consumer investigative team for help. Pham showed us proof that, in March 2023, he canceled his free trial membership with YouTube Premium two weeks after signing up for it.
