The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has officially dissolved all 11 regions of the party. The decision was made by the provincial task team which was introduced earlier this year. The party says the move aims to kick-start the rebuilding process of all of its structures ahead of the local government elections next year. The party’s support in the province dropped from 54 percent to 17 percent after last year’s general elections, resulting in the party losing control of the province.

Authorities in KwaZulu-Natal say they are working around the clock removing black ice caused by the low temperatures and heavy snowfall on the N2 between Harding and Port Shepstone. Parts of the N2 had to be closed from this morning as thin layer of transparent ice on the road surface made it dangerous for motorists. Many were trapped for more than eight hours by snowfalls and gale force winds. Urgent: N2 around Kokstad – Port Shepstone closed due to snowfall.
