Charges against a man accused in the 2006 homicide of 20-year-old Chad Rouse have been dismissed. Kevin Maddox had been facing charges of murder; robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Class A felony; and conspiracy to commit robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Class B felony, according to court records.

Police say a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on the city’s south side claimed the life of a Sharpsville man. Officials say one dog was killed and another was rescued after a fire broke out Monday night at a residence on the city’s north side.
