(WFSB/Gray News) – Police have released crime scene photos that show the inside of the Connecticut home where a woman has been accused of holding her stepson captive for more than 20 years. The images provide a glimpse into what investigators call a “house of horrors,” where the victim was reportedly confined to a small room for up to 22 hours a day by the suspect, 56-year-old Kimberly Sullivan.

WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) - A 12-year-old girl in Connecticut was arrested after police said she committed a hate crime against two Muslim classmates. Officials said the attack happened on March 3 at Wallace Middle School in Waterbury. According to officials, the two victims were wearing hijab when they were physically assaulted by fellow students. All of the students involved were in seventh grade.

NORWALK, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) – A holiday event in Connecticut took a turn when Santa Claus got stuck on the side of a building and had to be rescued. Firefighters responded to the Norwalk Holiday Extravaganza for reports of the man dressed as Santa Claus stranded 60 feet above the ground. The Santa was attempting to rappel down the side of the 13-story building when part of his costume became tangled in the rigging, leaving him suspended and unable to move.

BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) - Two residents were displaced after a structure fire on Sunday. The Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the area of 185 Seeley Street. Upon arrival, authorities found smoke billowing from the second-floor windows of a two-and-a-half-story wood-frame house. Firefighters quickly launched an aggressive interior attack, bringing the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes. A coordinated response from additional fire units supported the effort.

TRUMBULL, CT (WFSB) - A Bridgeport man was arrested in connection with a fatal car accident that occurred in December 2023. 26-year-old Christopher Lazo turned himself in on Tuesday after an active arrest warrant was issued. Lazo faces charges including negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, failure to maintain proper lane, and improper passing.
