LIVINGSTON —- It was around 9 p.m. on Friday, May 9 when Livingston Police officers responded to a shooting victim at Doyle High School. The caller advised that Evan Lynch, 23, had been shot at the school in the chest and was in a vehicle now. Officials were able to find the vehicle off Red Oak Road near Texas Street. Lynch was transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge. Officers then detained the driver and passenger in the vehicle for questioning.

INDEPENDENCE — Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating a deputy-involved shooting with a Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Deputy. The shooting happened when deputies responded to an active domestic violence incident, where a woman had been stabbed and was fighting for her life. It was Thursday around 7 p.m., May 8, when TPSO deputies responded to a call for Cornelius King Sr., 43, of Independence, allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Elaine Davis, 48, of Hammond.

BATON ROUGE — A gunman walked into a Regions Bank in Baton Rouge Thursday with the intent of robbing an employee. Instead, he was faced with two good samaritans, who helped get the gun away from the suspect until police arrived, essentially stopping the bank robbery at Regions. It was around 10:15 a.m. when a man with a gun walked into the Regions Bank at 3121 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd. in Baton Rouge.

DENHAM SPRINGS — A crash on Wednesday night in Denham Springs claimed the life of a Holden man. It was around 10:15 p.m. on May 7 when Denham Springs Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on I-12 eastbound across from Bass Pro. DSPD has not released any specifics into what caused the crash. One person did die in the crash. They have been identified as Steven Slifkin, 63, of Holden. No further details have been released at this time.
