FARGO — The Fargo Public Library is calling on amateur photographers to submit their best regional photos for the sixth annual “Northern Focus” project. One selected photograph will be featured on the cover of the library’s 2025 edition of "Northern Narratives," its annual collection of community writing. Submissions are free and open to amateur photographers ages 13 and older.

FARGO — Local healthcare providers are using April — Alcohol Awareness Month — to spotlight the effects of alcohol use disorder and reduce the stigma surrounding it. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly one in 10 Americans live with alcohol use disorder. Excessive alcohol use is responsible for more than 175,000 deaths in the U.S. each year.

FARGO — As Easter Sunday approaches, a local bakery is reminding customers to grab their holiday favorites before they’re gone. Great Harvest Bread, located on South University Drive in Fargo, is offering a variety of seasonal treats this week, including hot cross buns, Easter ambrosia, chocolate babka and their signature bunny-shaped “honey bunnies.” Dinner rolls are another top seller during the holiday, and store manager Laura Lindblad said this time of year is her favorite.

FARGO — History came to life at a Fargo elementary school this week. On Wednesday, April 16, fifth-graders at Lincoln Elementary hosted their first “living wax museum,” presenting historical research projects to classmates and family members. More than 50 students participated, dressing up as their favorite historical figures and sharing what they learned. Some chose athletes or celebrities, while others went back in time to explore the lives of founding fathers and famous inventors.
