    JAMESTOWN — Authorities in Jamestown responded to a standoff on Wednesday, June 18, that lasted 10 hours and involved a 2-year-old child, forcing a lockdown at a mobile home park. Police were called to a home at 1818 Western Park Village just before 2 a.m. after receiving a report that a woman inside was being threatened by a man. Officers say the suspect, 30-year-old Jacob Schmitt, allegedly threatened to kill the woman and was reportedly on drugs.

    FARGO — When Pam Matchie-Thiede was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2018, she feared it was a death sentence. But thanks to the team at Sanford Health’s Roger Maris Cancer Center, she has been in remission for the last two years. “I love them,” said Matchie-Thiede, referring to the staff at the Fargo-based cancer center.     DILWORTH — This year marked the second Fargo Cars and Coffee Father’s Day event. The free event welcomed both car collectors and car enthusiasts Sunday, June 15, at the Dilworth Rail District. About 150 cars were on display, and event organizers say nearly 300 people stopped by to check them out — and sip on some coffee while they did. Many likely needed the fuel, as the event started at 8:30 a.m. and wrapped up a few hours later at 11.
