SAN ANTONIO – Districts across San Antonio and Texas are considering whether to adopt new state-approved teaching materials that have sparked controversy for being “Bible-infused.”The South San Antonio Independent School District recently adopted the “Bluebonnet Learning” curriculum that was approved by the State Board of Education late last year. Several other school districts in the San Antonio area told KSAT they adopted the math portion of the curriculum or don’t plan to adopt it at all.

SAN ANTONIO – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against the City of San Antonio one day after the City Council narrowly approved $100,000 for a controversial fund that could help cover travel costs for women seeking legal abortions out of state. “Under Texas law, cities have no authority to use public money to assist people in circumventing Texas’s pro-life protections,” reads a press release from Paxton’s office.

SAN ANTONIO – A Harlandale ISD educator on paid leave is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to records obtained by KSAT on Thursday. The district said on March 4 that it was aware of an allegation involving an employee and a former student at McCollum High School, which KSAT reported. However, at the time, the district was mum on details, including the identity of the teacher and the nature of the investigation.
