Authorities have condemned the man who injured four people at Fawkes in the Walks by setting off a firework after he avoided jail. Aidas Berzinskas, 24, of Fairstead, was handed a suspended sentence at Norwich Crown Court last week following the shocking event in Lynn in November. Four people suffered hand and neck injuries when he set off the firework from an address outside the park.

Aidas Berzinskas, of Kings Green in Fairstead, filmed the shocking incident on his phone at the popular Lynn event on November 1 last year. Fawkes in the Walks was attended by thousands of visitors, with the four victims suffering hand and neck injuries.

Two men have been sentenced after stealing a car in Breckland. The pair used a signal relay device to take the Mercedes S Class from a driveway at 2.30am on April 7, but the noise of the engine starting alerted the owner - who called police on 999. The car was stopped just 12 minutes later in Necton when officers found the passenger still wearing a balaclava, with the signal relay device in the footwell and a GPS jammer device still transmitting.

A town GP surgery is set to benefit from a share of more than £100million in funding. Terry Jermy, the Labour MP for South West Norfolk, has today welcomed the Government’s announcement that Bridge Street Surgery in Downham will receive a percentage of the cash. It will join more than 1,000 GP surgeries across the UK and receive vital funding to create additional space to see more patients, boost productivity and improve patient care.
