DENTON COUNTY, Texas — At least one person has died after two vehicles collided with each other Friday afternoon in Denton County, police said. Just before 3 p.m., the Lake Dallas Police Department responded to an accident in the 600 Block of North Stemmons Freeway Service Road. The department said a gray Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on the Service Road and entered the left U-turn lane, intending to travel back underneath Interstate 35E.

ARLINGTON, Texas — One person was hospitalized and a 20-year-old man was arrested after a shooting early Wednesday morning at a motel in Arlington, according to police. Officers were called to a shooting shortly before 4:30 a.m. at a motel in the 800 block of North Watson Road, APD said in a news release. Upon arrival, they found a 21-year-old man inside one of the rooms with multiple gunshot wounds. He is currently recovering at the hospital and is expected to live, police said.

DALLAS — In response to the second death related to measles in West Texas, state health officials are expanding its updated MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) immunization recommendations for children to now include Lubbock County. These recommendations also apply to residents of Cochran, Dallam, Dawson, Gaines, Garza, Lynn, Lamar, Terry and Yoakum counties, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

TEXAS, USA — A judge has ruled that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton violated the Texas Whistleblower Act and has ordered his office to pay four former employees $6.6 million. In court documents, Travis County Judge Catherine Mauzy said Paxton retaliated against the employees after they reported the behavior they believed amounted to an abuse of power.
