Kyle Freeland held back tears thinking about his message to Rockies fans. The Denver native allowed five earned runs in a 10-2 loss Thursday to the Detroit Tigers at Coors Field. The Rockies extended their Major League worst record with only six wins. Freeland unloaded in his postgame news conference — “We’re playing a bad brand of baseball,” he said — before taking one last question from The Denver Gazette. ENGLEWOOD — Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw is on track to be a full participant in training camp. On Saturday, following rookie minicamp practice at Broncos Park, coach Sean Payton confirmed Greenlaw’s return timeline from a strained quadriceps muscle in the offseason. Two of the brightest MLB pitching prospects squared off at Coors Field. The Rockies’ Chase Dollander vs. the Tigers’ Jackson Jobe. Advantage: Detroit. The Tigers rallied on Wednesday night from an early deficit to win, 8-6 in 10 innings, over the lowly Rockies. Colorado moved to 6-29 on the season to begin a six-game homestand. Dollander — the organization’s top pitching prospect — started strong with six consecutive outs. It wouldn’t last. Dollander unraveled with poor command.
