PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) - An expanded exhibit at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge takes a closer look at something that could impact us all. That’s cybercrimes. This exhibit not only looks at people trying to rip you off, but how teenagers have become victims of sextortion. In these cases, the teens believe they’re sharing explicit pictures with other teens, when actually it’s someone who blackmails them, asking for additional money or they’ll share the pictures.
Mission Monday helping provide shoes for Sevier County kids

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Folks dining out Monday in Sevierville helped make sure every child has shoes to wear to school. Buddy’s BBQ in Sevierville hosted a fundraiser as part of their Mission Monday. For the fundraiser, 50% of the sales at Buddy’s went to Taylor Faith Ministries in Sevier County. Over the past decade, they have provided more than 4,000 pairs of shoes to kids who had nothing to wear. With growing kids, sometimes they’re in need several times through the year.
Sevier County Food Ministries wondering what’s next after shipments of food canceled

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Shipments of food have been canceled for Second Harvest Food Bank, and now the agencies who rely on that food for their communities are wondering what’s next. At Sevier County Food Ministries, the USDA supplies everything from eggs to cheese, meat and canned goods with last year equating to nearly $200,000.
Taco Trail opens in Gatlinburg

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) - The newest taco themed restaurant has opened in Sevier County bringing a fast-casual approach to dining on the Gatlinburg Parkway. Taco Trail replaces the former TGI Fridays in Gatlinburg and is the newest concept restaurant developed by the Collier Restaurant Group in Sevier County. There’s a range of taco options, chips and salsa options along with burrito bowl options.

A fund raiser was held on Saturday evening to keep the program completely free. At Bridge the Gap Ministries the goal is to provide a safe, supportive, Christ-centered environment for men who struggle with life-controlling issues. When the program is complete, these men will return to society as active working and productive citizens.
