PORTLAND, Ore. — Several Oregon small businesses filed a federal class action lawsuit alleging a group of lawyers created a sophisticated racketeering scheme involving thousands of fraudulent demand letters and lawsuits brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). PORTLAND, Ore. — An Oregon family has been unable to lay a loved one to rest because her cremated remains are stuck in the mail. The woman’s ashes, shipped via United States Postal Service from the U.S. Virgin Islands on March 22, were scheduled to be delivered two days later. Instead, the package has been bounced around the mail system with no estimate on when the cremated remains will arrive.

PORTLAND, Ore. — One of Oregon’s largest affordable housing landlords is looking to sell roughly 80 homes, leaving some long-time tenants fearful they may be forced out. “I’m a senior. I’m disabled. I just want to stay here,” said Sheryl Oldham, sitting in the Southeast Portland rental home where she’s lived for 53 years. “Where am I going to go?” The single-story house is owned by REACH Community Development, which provides affordable housing for more than 3,500 people in the Portland area.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland inventor is suing for patent infringement, claiming the companies behind the recognizable “As Seen On TV” products knocked off her idea.   “It’s like somebody stealing your child,” said inventor Juliette Fassett. In 2011, Fassett came up with the idea for “Flippy”, a soft, three-sided stand that can hold a tablet at different angles. Fassett and her husband created the design, built a prototype and got a patent. “It took forever. It took years,” Fassett said.

Most cases of students bringing guns to school are never publicly reported, so we filed a public records request to find out how many guns were seized in K-12 schools in Oregon, where they were found, and what type of weapons were recovered. https://t.co/atE9wetozZ
