A 24-year-old Indigenous man has died in police custody after he was restrained in a supermarket in central Australia. Police received reports about 1.10pm (ACST) on Tuesday that a man was involved in a fight with a security guard at a Coles supermarket in Alice Springs. “Two police officers were in the store at the time of the incident and restrained the adult male,” NT Police said in a statement. “A short time later, the man stopped breathing and CPR was commenced.
