A witness to the incident contacted police at 4 p.m. on April 2. He reported seeing a brown 2008 GMC Sierra pickup driving erratically before it rear ended a white 2024 GMC Sierra driving ahead of it.

    Staff at a Salmon Arm business restrained an uncooperative alleged shoplifter until police arrived. An employee of the 10th Avenue SW business contacted police about the matter at 5:45 p.m. on April 3. Responding officers took custody of a 27-year-old man, later learning he was from Vernon and had multiple active warrants for his arrest. "Staff advised police the man attempted to steal over $2,000 in products," said Const.
