According to police, officers were called to an alley in the 500-block of Victoria Street just before 11 p.m. on May 2 for a report of an injured person. In a news release, RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said Mounties found a woman suffering apparent stab wounds. “The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” she said.

    A long-awaited village centre in Sun Rivers is now open. Sun Rivers Commons welcomed its first tenants late last month. A Pizza Hut opened last week, and other businesses are expected to follow suit soon. The first playground in Sun Rivers was also built as part of the project. The cost of the playground was shared by Taslak Enterprises, the owner of the development, and the Community of Sun Rivers Owners’ Association.

    About two dozen people gathered in McDonald Park on Tuesday in North Kamloops for a vigil to honour those killed and injured in a deadly attack last month at a Vancouver cultural festival. Eleven people were killed on April 26 when a van plowed through a south Vancouver street filled with people celebrating the Lapu Lapu Day festival. Tuesday’s vigil was organized by the Kamloops Filipino-Canadian Association.
