The city of Enid just received 57 new fish attractors for its pond at Government Springs Park through a new partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. The Habitat Enhancement Partnership Initiative provides matching funds for fish habitat in reservoirs across Oklahoma. ODWC doubled the city's money and purchased $5,000 worth of habitat. The locations of the newly submerged fish attractors will soon be available on the wildlife department’s live fish attractor map.

A beautiful sight unfolded at Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City on Friday morning. News 9 viewer Natalie Johnson recorded a bald eagle soaring above and circling around the lake as joggers and walkers took a morning stroll below. Johnson said it was so neat to see. Full-grown bald eagles can have a wingspan of up to 7 feet and are among the largest birds of prey in the world. In Oklahoma, the biggest congregation of bald eagles can be found at the Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge.

Have you ever had hand-pulled noodles? An Asian noodle joint just west of downtown Oklahoma City called Big Biang specializes in them. Davy Sangouanesy says he started the concept as a food truck in 2019 and then quickly opened a brick-and-mortar location at 704 W Sheridan Avenue. Ever since he was young, Sangouanesy said he was always in the kitchen. "I've always cooked as a child," Sangouanesy said.

An Oklahoma non-profit organization specializing in outdoor adventures for children with special needs held a fishing outing on Saturday, and the group is looking for volunteers to help with future events. The weekend event at South Lakes Park in Oklahoma City was organized by Adapting Worlds Foundation, who said more than 50 children and their families attended the event. The organization says each family fished with a volunteer, including News 9 morning anchor Lacie Lowry.

A direct competitor of the restaurant chain On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is set to acquire it out of bankruptcy. Houston-based Pappas Restaurants, which owns Pappasito's Cantina and several restaurant brands, said it was the highest bidder at auction. It did not disclose the amount of the winning bid or future plans. In March 2025, On The Border filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing difficult economic conditions, labor shortages and underperforming restaurants.
