Kelley Guidry was named the first recipient of the Nevada Woman Veteran of the Year Award, a statewide award designed to recognize and honor women veterans for their volunteer work on behalf of veterans and the veteran community. Guidry, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served six years from 1997 to 2003, was selected by her peers to earn the honor. The Nevada Woman Veteran of the Year Award was launched during Women's Military History Month in March.

PenFed is giving a GR8 opportunity for Washington Capitals fans to have the chance to watch captain Alex Ovechkin make history, while also supporting veterans. With Ovechkin only seven goals from passing Wayne Gretzky as the top goal scorer in NHL history, the PenFed Foundation is auctioning off tickets in the PenFed suite at Capital One Arena for four upcoming games to help raise money for veterans. PenFed Foundation President, Andrea McCarren said the idea came from her 29-year-old son.
