BELTON — To call it a moving experience grossly understates the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s 86th annual Easter Pageant Wednesday afternoon in front of the Luther Memorial. The script was based on what many agree is the greatest story on Earth. Simplicity could have been the key theme, starting with the set. There was a tomb and three crosses on the audience’s left and a small home with an open upstairs apartment on the right.

Main St. drew visitors from Dallas, Fort Worth and Central Texas, said Amanda Organ, executive director of the Salado Chamber of Commerce, which sponsored the event. Many of the 95 vendors of craftwork and foodstuffs also came from far and wide, she said, but probably 70% of the artists were from Central Texas.
