BELTON -- In the midst of a tight three-horse race for second place in the District 16-5A baseball standings, the Belton Tigers hosted the Killeen Ellison Eagles on Thursday night hoping to get a leg up on their competition going into the final week of the season. The Tigers did just that by blitzing the Eagles with a 13-run second inning as they cruised to a 23-1 win to wrap up a sweep of their district foe and secure a spot in the postseason.

The victory earned Lake a chance to claim the league crown with one more triumph.

HOROSCOPES BY HOLIDAYBY HOLIDAY MATHISFOR RELEASE: SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 2025One-Way StreetIt's the first day of the year in which all planets are flying straight. No motion is inherently better or worse than another. Forward, backward and sideways are all part of the dance. But as creatures living in a realm where time is an arrow that only flies in one direction, a linear path is often more comfortable, better understood and more conducive to progressing independent interests.
