BELTON -- In the midst of a tight three-horse race for second place in the District 16-5A baseball standings, the Belton Tigers hosted the Killeen Ellison Eagles on Thursday night hoping to get a leg up on their competition going into the final week of the season. Lake Belton took the field for Tuesday night’s contest against Killeen Chaparral looking to widen its lead over the second-place Bobcats in the District 16-5A standings. The Broncos did just that by pulling away early and piling on some insurance in the late innings of a 5-0 win at Bronco Ballpark on a night when they kept Chaparral off the board despite some early threats. The victory earned Lake a chance to claim the league crown with one more triumph.

HOROSCOPES BY HOLIDAYBY HOLIDAY MATHISFOR RELEASE: SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 2025One-Way StreetIt's the first day of the year in which all planets are flying straight. No motion is inherently better or worse than another. Forward, backward and sideways are all part of the dance. But as creatures living in a realm where time is an arrow that only flies in one direction, a linear path is often more comfortable, better understood and more conducive to progressing independent interests.
