WEAR News visited them in their studio. Aubree Randolph was behind the controls as the team prepared to do their daily show. “Are you all ready?" she asks. Then to teammate Mason Lynch she says, "OK...you start it..."The music and graphics pop up on screen, and the show is off and running.

    OCALA, Fla. -- Florida's first black bear hunt in ten years could happen in December. Regulators are meeting this week in Ocala to finalize the plan. Local animal advocate Laurie Hood is traveling to that meeting to make a last-ditch plea to stop the hunt. She's the founder of Alaqua Animal Refuge, and a former vice-chair of the Florida Wildlife Federation. Black bears were once a threatened species in Florida.

WEAR News went to see the critical training some Escambia County students got on Wednesday, and what it can mean for all of us. For those who remember, the song is called "Stayin' Alive." It has the perfect beat for lifesaving chest compressions, and it's the perfect theme for the CPR training at West Florida High School.

    OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. -- A combat wounded Air Force veteran was gifted a mortgage-free home Wednesday in Okaloosa County. It's more than a brand new house. It's a brand new beginning. Staff Sergeant Justin Day was an Air Force combat controller, working with elite special operations teams. "They work in the war zone, and things happen sometimes," Crestview Mayor JD Whitten said. "Horrible things happened to Sergeant Day."He was severely injured in Afghanistan in 2018.

    NICEVILLE, Fla. -- Saturday in Niceville is the fourth annual charity Fire Truck Pull at 3rd Planet Brewing. It's a test of strength and teamwork for a very worthy cause. Teams will grab a rope and play the ultimate tug-of-war game, pulling 20-ton fire trucks. In addition to the main event, there's a "kids fun pull", face painting, and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit twin cities Pavilion and Crestview Manor.
