Somewhere in the vicinity of Gulf Breeze, there exists a long thin stretch of property that for years county officials thought was a road. That road, which it is now believed was never actually a road, was vacated in 2020 and declared a conservation easement to be preserved, untouched, for all time. But if a road is not a road it cannot be vacated, which would mean the land could not have been placed under a conservation easement to begin with, and it remains county property.
