AbstractThe At Risk Mental State (ARMS) (also known as the Ultra or Clinical High Risk) criteria identify individuals at high risk for psychotic disorder. However, there is a need to improve prediction as only about 18% of individuals meeting these criteria develop a psychosis with 12-months. We have developed and internally validated a prediction model using characteristics that could be used in routine practice.

DiscussionThe principal findings of this study are that GDF-15 was the strongest predictor of HHF or all-cause mortality in patients at risk of HF or with HF but before first hospitalisation. Moreover, GDF-15 resulted in a more parsimonious prognostic model, with higher predictive accuracy and which would lead to greater clinical benefit across the entire risk spectrum.

Posted Tuesday, September 12, 2023 9:52 am I believe anyone who was born in the 90s or earlier will have a memory of exactly where they were and what they were doing when they learned a plane had just hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center, just as those of earlier generations will remember other such landmark events like Kennedy’s assassination or the moon landing. At 8:50 am on September 11, 2001, I was a freshman in high school, sitting in my speech and debate class and our teacher...
