    Bobby Dean Hutson, 89, passed away at his home, on Aug. 16, 2024. He was born Dec. 26, 1934, in the Cole’s Chapel community, of Sparta/White County. Bobby married Jonelda Sparks Hutson, in 1954, and they enjoyed 70 years of being together. Bobby graduated from White County High School. As a lover of music, Bobby attended Tennessee Technological University where he thrived as a drum major.

    Jonelda Sparks Hutson, 88, passed away May 25, 2024, at her home. She was born July 21, 1935, in the Yankeetown community, of Sparta/White County. Jonelda graduated from White County High School, in 1953. She was employed by Sparta Electric System for 40 years and was the “boss” of Hutson’s Catering. Jonelda volunteered delivering meals for Sparta Senior Citizens and participated in several community groups: Sparta Jr. Woman’s Club, Sparta Jaycettes, and Baker and East Sparta PTO.

    The Oswegoland Park District’s annual craft beer festival, Oswego Brew at the Bridge, will return to Hudson Crossing Park in downtown Oswego from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The festival, which since 2012 has annually attracted crowds to the park along the east bank of the Fox River just north of the Washington Street (Route 34) bridge, will feature live entertainment, food vendors and beers and brews served up by Illinois-based craft brewers.
