A gas leak outside a Newark hospital has been fixed and the area has been deemed safe, officials say. A spokesperson for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center says the leak was on a PSE&G curb valve on Lehigh Avenue behind the hospital. PSE&G and the Newark Fire Department responded at 6:45 a.m. The spokesperson added there was no interruption to gas service and no interruption to patient care at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Travelers out of Newark Airport are hoping their flights will be on time today following significant delays over the weekend. At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Newark airport reported departure delays. More delays were reported Sunday at 11 a.m. with total delays topping over 370. The cause for the delays is not clear. The weather was clear this weekend. The recent global tech outage has been resolved. This also has been a busy year for airports nationwide.

The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office confirms the 55-year-old truck driver was killed. His identify has not been released. Clifton Fire officials told News 12 that a bus rear-ended that truck, causing the crash to happen. News 12 is still working to confirm and learn more details about that. Cleanup continues Tuesday, July 23, 2024, on Route 3 in Clifton East following Monday's fatal crash on the highway.
