SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- After decades of no leads, DNA and fingerprints found on a pack of cigarettes led the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office to a murder suspect. In 1977, 24-year-old Jeanette Ralston was found strangled to death in the back seat of her Volkswagen Beetle. The San Mateo resident was last seen alive at a bar in San Jose. Deputy District Attorney Rob Baker has worked closely with the Cold Case Unit.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- A new deadly drug called carfentanil is in Santa Clara County, medical experts say. It's a synthetic opioid like fentanyl, but much stronger. On Wednesday, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Michelle Jordan announced that the county's first overdose death due to carfentanil was reported last week. SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Silicon Valley Granite in San Jose has more than 20 years worth of natural stone products that must be moved by Wednesday. Sridhar Kollareddy is the owner. He estimates he has 7,000 of different stone slabs. The average weight of each is 1,000 pounds. "I have granite, marble, quartz, quartzite," Kollareddy listed off. His 3-acre property is located right next to Highway 101 between Julian and Santa Clara Streets.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- In the last 24 hours, many international students across the Bay Area are finding out their visas have been reinstated. This comes after the federal government abruptly terminated their status sparking confusion and litigation. The changes have affected many students, but not all. At San Jose State University for example, 13 students had their visas revoke, but Friday's action resulted in six of them getting their status reactivated.
