Austin is the third queerest city in the country, by some estimates. So why doesn't it have any lesbian bars? Theo Snow wanted to know the answer to this question, so they reached out to KUT's ATXplained project. "I’m curious why there aren’t any dyke bars — lesbian bars," they said. Earlier this month, the few hundred residents who live around SpaceX outside Brownsville voted to create the new City of Starbase. The approval occurred with no dissent. "We congratulate Starbase, the new mayor and the new two city councilman and wish them the absolute best. We look forward to working with them for the betterment not only of Starbase but of Cameron County, Texas," County Judge Eddie Treviño said.

SpaceX just got a lot closer to launching more rockets from its base in South Texas. The Federal Aviation Administration on Tuesday said there would be no significant impact to the environment if SpaceX increases launches at its Starbase facility from five to 25 times a year — as long as the company takes additional steps to protect the local area. The information was issued in what's called a "final tiered environmental assessment," an in-depth look into the request's potential effects.
