Vehicles were delayed for up to 30 minutes following the blaze following a lane closure, which occurred on the anticlockwise lane at J19 A576 Middleton Road (Heaton Park Three Arrows Roundabout).

BMW driver reached 130mph in ‘outrageous’ police chase (Image: Google Maps) A dangerous driver led police officers on ‘reckless’ car chase on the motorway reaching speeds of up to 130mph, a court has heard. Kaden Hussain, 28, of Daysdale Avenue in Bolton, was sentenced at Bolton Crown Court after pleading guilty to dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

Little Hulton (Image: Greater Manchester Police) Police seized a number of weapons after raiding a property and discovery a cannabis farm at a property as part of a crackdown on organised crime in Little Hulton. Neighbourhood officers in Little Hulton executed two warrants over the weekend. The warrants – executed on Saturday and Sunday at Wallbrook Crescent and Chedworth Crescent respectively – saw the discovery of a cannabis farm and the arrest of a man.

Police close road after crash (Image: Leah Collins) A HORSE had to be put down after running loose and crashing with a car. Emergency services were called to Leigh at around 2pm after the tragic accident. The incident occurred on Slag Lane on Saturday, February 1. The road was closed, with police officers diverting traffic back towards Plank Lane causing minor traffic congestion.

Five car collision (Image: National Highways) A five-car smash involving three card and two vans caused major delays across the M60 this morning. The incident was reported at around 9.19am this morning on the M60 anticlockwise approaching Stockport between junction one and junction 27. The vehicle collision resulted in two of the three lanes being closed whilst the area was cleared. Traffic officers arrived at the scene to clear the area.

Liz Boardman (Image: Michelle Lowe) A family have been left heartbroken after the sudden and unexpected death of a mum-of-four while she was on holiday in Egypt. Liz Boardman, from Kearsley, was on holiday in Hurghada with her partner Alan and four sons when she died suddenly on Sunday, November 10. An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the 40-year-old's death, but Liz’s family have said that she had no previous health issues and no allergies.

A two vehicle crash took place on Chorley New Road with the junction of Winter Hey Lane on Sunday evening at around 8pm. It is currently unclear whether police arrived at the scene, but no one was taken to hospital at the time of the crash.

5 1/1 The Environment Agency is "advising" the landowner of a Bolton park after the potential presence of a hazardous algae following the death of a dog. Reports of the blue-green algae in ponds at Cutacre Country Park came after a dog died following a visit to the beauty spot. Lynda Hardman was walking with her Manchester Terrier, Lexy, through the area on the evening of Friday, September 27 when she noticed her dog begin to "chew something under a bush".
