Before her case unraveled, everyone in the English department was rooting for Cora to get tenure, including me. She was up a few years ago, and the road had been rough. She had taken on too much service, not just to the department and college, but also to national organizations. She had had difficulty in getting the publications she needed. Her book had not yet been picked up by a press. Several articles were awaiting decisions.
