    The Oklahoma Senate Appropriations Committee is giving the green light to legislation that would fortify the Arkansas River Levee systems. The committee approved $50 million in funding for the bill. Tulsa County says that’s because the levees have been at risk since 2009 and barely survived the floods in 2019.     Lawmakers are discussing a bill whose sponsor says will help Oklahoma workers by making daycares more accessible and affordable. There are places across the state where parents don't have access to daycare, and this proposal looks to solve that issue. If passed, House Bill 4147 would give a tax credit to businesses that share daycare costs with employees. And daycare workers would also see an extra $1,000 on their tax returns.

    Tuesday was a busy day for firefighters across the state. Firefighters in Northwest Rogers County say they’ve been out to nearly a dozen grass fires this week, and an average fire burns about 30 acres of land. Moving into Spring is the time of year when firefighters say they are preparing to battle and contain grass fires. “We’ve seen ‘em go as far as 2 to 3 miles long before we can get a stop on ‘em,” Lieutenant Josh Copeland said.

    Three have people died, including an unborn baby, after a crash involving a Tulsa fire truck, The Tulsa Police Department said. There were six people in the car, three adults and three children at the time of the crash, police said. A 23-year-old female passenger and a 5-year-old female passenger died from their injuries at the hospital. Police also said that a 26-year-old passenger was in her second trimester and miscarried the baby.
