ERIE, Pa (WKBN) – Greenville baseball loses to Mercyhurst Prep, 6-0, in the Class 2A District 10 Championship game at Penn State Behrend Monday afternoon. Mercyhurst’s Rocco Almonte, Tanner Ashton, and Ethan Ishimaru all drove in two runs each in the win. The Trojans’ Jackson Leskovac hit a double and Brandon Stubert a single in the loss. Greenville falls to a record of 16-3 on the season. Mercyhurst Prep advances to 22-1. Mercyhurst Prep advances in the 2025 PIAA Baseball State Tournament.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (WKBN) – West Middlesex softball falls to Cambridge Springs, 12-0, in the Class 1A District 10 Championship game at Slippery Rock University Monday afternoon. The win marks Cambridge Springs’ 11th district title and third consecutive championship. Blue Devil’s Kayla Crawford had 12 strikeouts in the dominant win. The Big Reds fall to an overall season record of (8-11). Cambridge Springs moves on to the 2025 PIAA Softball State Tournament.

SHIPPENSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – Three local athletes took home first place in the 2025 PIAA State Track & Field Championships in Shippensburg Saturday. Mercer County accounted for 26 medals from 10 different schools in the PIAA Championships. Greenville:Karis McElhaney, gold in girls’ 800m and third in the 1600m. Maggie Goodlin, second in girls’ shot put and eighth in discus. Sharon:Ondrea Young, gold in girls’ 100m hurdles and fifth in the 300m hurdles. Hickory:Ben Walls, gold in shot put.

Seneca’s Haylee Farrell led the way for the Bobcats with one home run and drove in four runs in the win.
