Two of Stark County's favorite restaurants will go to battle Monday to raise funds to help children in Canton City and Massillon City school districts. Taggarts Ice Cream Parlor and Kozmo’s Grille will wage a friendly competition Monday to raise money for Feed Kids First. Feed Kids First helps ensure no child will go without food and basic needs by distributing food directly to children.

Rohr’s confectionery journey began more than 20 years ago when she learned to craft chocolates using her husband’s family heirloom molds. Over time, she perfected classics like vanilla nut and maple nut opera fudge and became known for her signature peanut butter filling, a treasured recipe from her mother’s family.

CANTON – After 24 years serving Stark County, Samantha’s Downtown Restaurant & Bar has closed. Originally located at 138 Second St. NW, owner Heidi Kiefer moved the restaurant to 217 Market Ave. N in April 2021. “After 24 meaningful years of serving our downtown Canton community and Stark County, I have made the difficult decision to close Samantha’s Downtown Restaurant," Kiefer said by phone.

JACKSON TWP. – When you think Bollywood, the movie industry in India generally comes to mind. But, the operators of a new restaurant in the Lake Cable area are hoping that diners will think of flavorful dishes when Bollywood Indian Restaurant comes to mind. Bollywood opened in December 2024 in a large plaza that also includes Fiddlestix Billiard Cafe. A recent dinner visit was the perfect excuse to catch up with my friend Nicole Hagy of Jackson Township.
