An abandoned newborn baby was found next to a dumpster in Riverside on Sunday afternoon, police confirmed to KTLA. The Riverside Police Department said a call came in around 2:20 p.m., saying a baby was found lying on the ground next to the dumpster at an apartment complex on the 3800 block of Jackson Street. Details are limited, and officials did not immediately reveal the gender or age of the infant. Unconfirmed reports said the baby had its umbilical cord cut out.

Four people were killed in a violent, single-vehicle rollover crash in a San Bernardino County desert on Sunday morning, officials confirmed to KTLA. A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol in Barstow said it happened around 7:45 a.m. on the I-40 Freeway near mile marker 30. A preliminary investigation revealed that the car was traveling westbound on the freeway when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and veered off the road, into the desert territory.
