Los Angeles County officials removed several homeless encampments in Woodland Hills and Beverly Grove, where more than 30 people lived. The efforts were a part of the county’s Inside Safe operation, a program designed to help homeless residents get off the streets and into housing. The Woodland Hills encampment was located in front of Warner Center Park. The two Beverly Grove encampments were located among businesses, an assisted living facility and local residences.

One lucky Southern Californian is the state’s newest millionaire after numbers for a winning ticket were drawn for the $25 million SuperLotto Plus jackpot Saturday night. The winning numbers were 7, 10, 11, 21, 32 and the Mega Number was 5. One SoCal ticket matched all numbers and will take home $25 million. The winning ticket was sold at USA Tobacco at 2743 Hamner Ave. in Norco. A second-place winner who matched five numbers but not the Mega Number will take home $33,650.

One person was hospitalized after shots were fired at Dockweiler Beach in Playa del Rey Saturday night. Los Angeles police received reports of the shooting around 7:08 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene found the victim, identified only as a 40-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in unknown condition. Video from the scene showed a large portion of the beach parking lot cordoned off by police tape.
