In a nearly empty rental house in East Los Angeles County, Sogol Moshfegh was struggling last week to assemble an IKEA bunk bed for her two young boys. "Got those two bits done!" she laughed, standing with pieces of the bed around her. The family lost their home in the Altadena Fire and had been staying with Moshfegh's parents. As they started to move in here, writing that first rent check brought home the challenges they now face.
