Lawmakers extended funding for the Child Care Assistance Program for Child Care Educators pilot. The program uses federal funds to give early childhood education workers free childcare.

SCITUATE, R.I. (WJAR) — Some Scituate families are pushing back after learning their school district is closing some classrooms and doubling class sizes. Superintendent Laurie Andries confirmed that the district is cutting a kindergarten and first grade classroom at Hope Elementary School, meaning there will only be one classroom per grade at the school. "I don't think we're doing justice for the kids," said parent Joe Caparco. Caparco is the guardian to a child with a learning disability.
