Under the direction of volunteer Susie Clark, Homefest returns to Piedmont this year as the town’s special summer festival.

PIEDMONT, W.Va. (WV News) - As the Piedmont City Council moves through the process to pass a nuisance ordinance, council member-elect Denny Powers is questioning the need for the new law. Council member and mayor-elect Rhonda Niland introduced the ordinance at the May 21 meeting, saying it had been fashioned after the ordinance recently passed in Keyser. She asked her fellow council members to read over it and be ready to discuss or start the process of passing it at the June 4 meeting.

PIEDMONT, W.Va. (WV News) - Piedmont Homefest is back, thanks to volunteer Susie Clark who stepped up to chair the summer festival once again. Homefest had been a staple of Tri-Towns summers for many years, but interest died down and the festival was replaced by the Piedmont Back Street/Rise Up Festival sponsored by the Piedmont City Council. Council members Paul Coleman and Bev Noonan chaired the event which was held in the town park.
