    A Dillon man was killed May 8 when his truck went off a roadway, hitting a culvert embankment, authorities said. His vehicle then became airborne before hitting a bridge pillar. According to a Montana Highway Patrol report, the 49-year-old driver was southbound on Interstate 15 near Divide Creek Road in a Ford F250 pickup truck when the crash occurred just after 6 p.m. He was transported to a nearby medical facility, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

    Update: U.S. Marshals have confirmed that Julian Reese has turned himself in and is in custody. CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The U.S. Marshals Service is requesting the public’s assistance in apprehending a suspect wanted in the North Central West Virginia area. Julian Christopher Reese, 21, is wanted out of Monongalia County for Malicious Wounding and Conspiracy, according to a marshals service press release.

    With the help of students from Butte High School’s welding program, members of VFW Post 1448 recently installed a metal marker at Holy Cross Cemetery for Leo J. Powers. The World War II veteran was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his act of heroism on Feb. 3, 1944, near Cassino, Italy. On Jan. 10, 1945, at the White House, the medal was bestowed on Pfc. Powers by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Nine Montana men, including Powers, have been the recipients of the highest military decoration.
