Komen for the Cure Mother’s Day brunch, Mother’s Day Breakfast and Bubbles, was held at Peoria’s Premier Event and Entertainment Center. Organizers said the event is continuing the celebration of the More Than Pink Walk, which marked its 40th anniversary on Saturday. People were invited to buy tickets to the event, honoring the special women in their lives. Guests were also able to pay for a raffle drawing.

    PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Heights’ Tower Park was filled with art enthusiasts over the weekend for the annual Peoria Heights Arts Collaborative Fine Art Fair. Running for almost a decade, the fair draws hundreds of people for the two-day event. The 2025 fair featured 41 artists from across the country and locally, food vendors, children’s activities, and live music.

    NATIONAL (25News Now) - President Donald Trump struck a trade deal with the United Kingdom Thursday, reducing the initial tariff percentage imposed on the country. Under the Deal, Trump said the U.K. will reduce nontariff barriers on U.S. products like beef, ethanol, machinery, and chemicals. Illinois is the third-largest producer of ethanol in the U.S., exporting more than 100 million gallons to the U.K. every year.

    MCLEAN COUNTY (25News Now) - Connect Transit confirmed it will be taking over rural McLean County transportation routes this summer. Normal Town Council voted to let the company operate outside of Bloomington-Normal’s corporate limit a month ago. The transportation company will take over Show Bus’s routes from Bloomington-Normal to outlying towns like Chenoa, Lexington, Towanda, Bellflower, LeRoy, Downs, and Saybrook.

    PEORIA (25News Now) - Illinois Rep. Eric Sorensen (Illinois-D) reintroduced this week that would expand disabled veterans’ access to necessary home modifications. Right now, a disabled veteran will only receive $6,800 to make at-home modifications for disabilities due to their time in the service. A veteran will only get $2,000 for injuries or disabilities unrelated to their military service.
