Vermont State Police have made an arrest in a suspicious death case stemming from a situation in Bridport in January 2024. On Jan. 25, 2024 police found Stephen Nuciolo Sr., 44, of Bridport dead at his Swinton Road home. An autopsy performed by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington last year determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center said that every 68 seconds someone is sexually assaulted. Vermont's Youth Risk Behavior Survey found that almost 40% of female high school students have experienced unwanted sexual contact, which is four times the rate reported by their male peers. A Vermont nonprofit is doing its part to make sure people know how to defend themselves and have the tools to stay safe.
