ASHLAND, Ore. – Sports are often associated with youth, even professional athletes in their 30s are often considered out of their prime. One Ashland based organization is proving the opposite. Rogue Rowing has multiple teams that practice and compete, including the Women’s Masters team, made of women ages 55-59. On June 20-22, they compete in the Northwest Masters Championships.

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Hunter Communications Amateur Athlete of the Week just finished up her junior year with the North Medford softball team, earning the Southwest Conference Player of the Year. Meet Natalie Tlascala. Tlascala helped lead the Black Tornado to a second place finish in the 6A division in state playoffs. Despite the great year as a team and an individual player, she’s stayed humble. “ It's really nice title to have for myself,” Tlascala said.

HOUSTON, Texas. – On June 1st, former South Medford High School and Oregon State University baseball player Jacob Melton made his MLB debut for the Houston Astros. Not only was it his first time playing in a Major league uniform, he also notched his first career hit in the show. “To be able to get the first hit in the first game was super cool,” Melton said to NewsWatch 12.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Southern Oregon University (SOU) Raiders' softball team is once again NAIA softball World Series champions. The Raiders’ path to the Red Banner was anything but easy throughout the tournament. After losing their first game on day one of the double-elimination tournament, a gauntlet stood between SOU and a Red Banner. They had to win five games in a row to make it to the championship and then beat the last remaining team twice.
