Operation Shower is a national nonprofit dedicated to honoring military families, hosted a special baby shower on Hilton Head Island for service members and spouses stationed far from home. “Stuff like this makes you feel heard, feel seen, and it's just amazing,” said Marine mom Brenda Hall.

Days of heavy rain are causing delays for farmers in southeast Georgia, particularly those harvesting Vidalia onions—one of the region’s largest crops. At Shuman Farms in Reidsville, nearly 10 inches of rain have fallen over the past few days, soaking fields. “It’s been something this entire crop season,” said John Shuman, president and CEO of Shuman Farms.

Allison Nguyen's mother, Tina was pregnant with her when her father, a helicopter pilot for the South Vietnamese army, made a daring escape on April 30, 1975. As communist forces closed in on the capital, Hung Nguyen landed a helicopter on the roof of their home to rescue his family.
