    CAMILLUS, N.Y. (WSYR) — The West Genesee Wildcats continue their undefeated season with a demanding 15-5 win over Shenendehowa. They raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter and didn’t look back. Seniors Jake McMahon, Charlie Lockwood, Jack Wenham, and Jacob Pensabene racked up 11 of the Wildcats’ 15 goals. Pensabene led the way with six points (5 goals and 1 assist). RJ Bartholomew won 10-of-15 faceoffs.

    ONEIDA, N.Y. (WSYR) — Oneida Senior Jacob Marji knew discus was the sport for him from the first throw. “There’s something with throwing, getting a good throw. It’s almost like a baseball swing or a golf swing when you when it comes off your hand, you know it’s a good one and that kind of just hooks you on. So from there I was I was hooked and I kept on doing it,” said Oneida Senior Jacob Marji. From there he has put in the hours and it has paid off, currently ranked number one in New York state.

    JACKSONVILLE, F.L. (WSYR) — In his Triple-A debut, Syracuse Mets starting pitcher Nolan McLean threw seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts as Syracuse beat the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, 4-0, on Friday night at VyStar Ballpark. The seven innings pitched is a career high for McLean and the longest outing for a Mets starting pitcher this season. The Mets got on the board with a single from Jon Singleton. Jared Young followed it up with a home run to make it 2-0.

    NEW HAVEN, C.T. (WSYR) — Syracuse women’s lacrosse move on in the NCAA Tournament after a 15-9 win over Brown on Friday in the first round game. The Orange pulled away in the second quarter after Ashlee Volpe scored to push them ahead 6-3. SU headed into halftime up 11-6 and held on in the second half to grab the first round win. Emma Muchnick and Emma Ward led the way with three goals a piece, Ward leading the team with six points.
