NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - LSU is just two wins away from punching their ticket to the College World Series. The Tigers survived a bit of a scare last weekend in the regional, after losing to Little Rock on Sunday, and then defeating the Trojans on Monday to survive and advance. Now LSU welcomes West Virginia to Alex Box Stadium, for this best-of-three Super Regional series. Though, the Tigers are the better and more well rounded team on paper, the Mountaineers have enjoyed a lot of success this season.

ENDWELL, N.Y. (WBNG) -- A nurse was arrested for taking medications from senior housing residents on Monday. According to New York State Police, Carol L. Hissin, 63, was charged with three counts of felony falsifying business records and one count of misdemeanor scheme to defraud. An investigation revealed that on three occasions, while working at Good Shepherd Communities in Endwell, Hissin signed out medication intended for residents but never administered it.

BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WBNG) -- A Bradford County man was sentenced to up to 23 months in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for being in possession of child sexual abuse material. According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, Blake Andrew Manning, 19, of Laceyville, Pa., was charged with the above offence in October of last year. Investigators found photos of two 14-year-old females on Manning’s cellphone.

PREBLE, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The New York State Police remind drivers to slow down in active work zones with Operation Hard Hat. On June 4 and 5, state troopers were stationed at a work zone on Interstate-81 in Preble to target reckless and distracted drivers. Joining Department of Transportation crews on the road, troopers were dressed as construction workers and watched for reckless behavior among drivers.
