At the corner of Clinton Street and Wilkinson Boulevard, Capital Plaza Hotel has become a temporary home for around 80 people in Frankfort who lost everything. Buffalo Trace Distillery is back above water and working to reopen after historic flooding forced the iconic Kentucky bourbon brand to shut down operations. At its worst, the distillery was several feet underwater. Now that floodwaters are receding, the Frankfort distillery has activated a full-scale cleanup and recovery effort. Hundreds of employees are working around the clock, picking up debris and washing out the remaining water on the property.

Historic flooding dealt a financial blow to the city and local businesses when it forced the Kentucky Derby Festival to cancel Thunder Over Louisville. On Thursday, floodwaters and debris still covered Waterfront Park and filled the lower level of The Galt House Hotel, the official home of Thunder. "At the crest, it got up to probably 6.5 feet in the basement or so," said Josh Zik, president and CEO of Al J. Schneider Company, which owns the hotel.

LAS VEGAS - The family of a man killed by a Las Vegas police officer filed a federal lawsuit on Monday. Metropolitan Police Department Officer Alexander Bookman fatally shot Brandon Durham, 43, on Nov. 12 after Durham called police to report a burglary. The Clark County district attorney's office is expected to seek an indictment of Bookman, according to an attorney for the officer.
