BOISE, Idaho — There is a tattoo shop in Boise that is doing something very special for Idaho parents who have lost children. Dave and Mariah Aslett are the owners of Not Your Average Tattoo Shop on Milwaukee Street off of Fairview Avenue. They say they want to give back to the community. "Our community is everything to us," Dave said. "Without our community, we wouldn't be who we are." The name of the shop fits the couple's mission.

CALDWELL, Idaho — Canyon County Deputy Darr Anderson is the resource officer at Vallivue Middle School in Caldwell. This year, he came up with an idea to improve relations with students. "I'm a think outside the box kind of guy, so I try to think of different things that would be fun for the kids," Darr said. So, what did he do? He set up his very own donut shop pop-up. That's not something you usually see at a school.

BOISE, Idaho — Kids and sleep; It can be a challenge for families. Pediatricians recommend that school-aged children need between 10 and 12 hours of sleep per night. This year, Taft Elementary in Boise started an "Operation Bedtime Story" program to help kids go to bed on time. The staff worked together to make it happen. "I teach first grade here at Taft Elementary. I've been here for 17 years," said Dustin Hamlin, first-grade teacher at Taft.

BOISE, Idaho — On Mother's Day, people honor their moms. There is also a mom right here in Boise who is taking it even further. She saw a need in our community and decided to act on it. Katie Marshall aims to make dreams come true for kids with chronic medical conditions. Her 8-year-old son inspired her. "Tommy is very fun and very loving," Marshall said.

NAMPA, Idaho — Lorena Villagran is a first grader at Park Ridge Elementary in the Nampa School District. Her mom said she loves going to school. "Lorena is doing great in school, and she has an amazing teacher, Miss Courtney," said Susie Villagran, Lorena's mom.
