CFEED, a Norwegian company specialising in copepod production for marine larvae, has revealed plans to expand its production facility in Vanvikan, Norway. The expansion, supported by a significant investment in advanced technology, will increase production capacity and improve operational efficiency. The new facility is expected to open on August 20, 2025, after construction is completed in early August.

Lerøy Seafood Group will start using chicken by-products in its fish feed in spring 2025 to reduce its carbon footprint by up to 16%. The company is working with supplier EWOS Cargill as part of its sustainability strategy. Anne Hilde Midttveit, head of sustainability at Lerøy, said feed is a major emission source in aquaculture, and reducing its impact is essential to meeting the company’s 2030 goal of a 46% reduction in emissions.

She holds a Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), a MSc in Aquaculture from Universitat de Barcelona and a PhD in Animal Production from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She was also granted a Postdoctoral Fellowship from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) in 2016, where she started working in the field of natural feed additives for aqua feeds.

Archer-Daniels-Midland Company (ADM) reported lower earnings in the fourth quarter of 2024, citing softer market conditions and policy uncertainty. The company also revealed plans to implement cost-saving measures of £410 million to £615 million, which will include a workforce reduction. For Q4 2024, ADM reported earnings before income taxes (EBIT) of £546 million, a 9% decline compared to the same quarter in 2023.
