Several areas of Wisconsin are assessing damage and cleaning up May 16 after severe storms hit the state the previous day. In Dodge County, some homes and businesses in the Juneau, Horicon and Mayville areas were destroyed as a tornado was spotted shortly before 6 p.m., according to National Weather Service meteorologist Sarah Marquardt. A weather censor on the east side of Horicon Marsh — just north of the presumed tornado's path — measured 73 mph winds around 5:55 p.m., according to the NWS.

The National Weather Service says tornadoes were spotted May 15 shortly before 6 p.m. in Juneau, Horicon and Mayville. The weather service typically assesses the damage and makes that determination the next day.
