Ben Wikler, the leader of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, is passing the torch. Wikler announced Thursday he won't seek another term as chairman and will depart in June, when the state party holds its convention. In a letter to Democrats, Wikler said he will "take some time to figure out what's next." He told news outlets he may seek elected office in the future.

If there's one thing to understand about Wisconsin politics, it's that election season is never truly over. The next state Supreme Court race kicked off mere days after liberal Judge Susan Crawford won election April 1. Democratic Gov. Tony Evers hasn't announced whether he'll seek another term, but his decision — expected by this summer — could kick off competitive primaries on both sides. All of Wisconsin's U.S. House members are up for election in the 2026 midterms, though Sens.

By all accounts, "Hands Off!" rallies in Wisconsin and across the nation Saturday, held in protest of President Donald Trump and his billionaire ally Elon Musk, were large-scale events. But the Milwaukee protest didn't surpass the massive crowd that gathered nearly four years ago as the Milwaukee Bucks clinched the NBA championship. That celebration took place at a different time of day and in an entirely different location in the city from the Saturday rally.

A quick round of wet, slushy snow is headed to Wisconsin Monday morning before temperatures bounce back to spring normals later in the week. Snow will peak in the early overnight hours north of Interstate 94, then along and south of the highway from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. More scattered snow showers are possible across southern Wisconsin until 7 p.m. Monday night. Johnsonville, a Sheboygan Falls-based sausage company, recalled about 22,672 pounds of cheddar bratwursts that were sold in 10 states, including Wisconsin. The recall, announced Saturday, comes after two consumers found hard plastic material in the brats. No injuries have been reported from consuming the product. The product was produced Feb. 5, 2025, at Johnsonville's plant in Momence, Illinois.
